Introduction

This is a record of the difficult early days of Elon Musk and SpaceX. What is it like to work with Musk? This book tells the unforgettable flying stories of 36 initial members who were crazy with him.

One day in late 2000, 29-year-old Elon Musk was talking about starting a business with his friend Adio Lacy, and he mentioned that he had always been interested in space. That night, he looked through NASA's official website and found that the US aerospace industry had done nothing after the Apollo moon landing. Musk decided to bring a breakthrough to the industry - he wanted to go to Mars, and he started by building rockets.

SpaceX was founded on May 6, 2002. Musk invested $100 million to support three rocket launches. The company's official website reads: "We are looking for talents from all over the world to solve challenging projects and ultimately achieve the goal of humans becoming a multi-planetary species." No one in the industry was optimistic, and even the first few executives who joined the team didn't really believe that Musk could build a rocket.

On August 3, 2008, the third launch failed and the funds ran out. At this moment, Masink and his team assembled the last rocket with the remaining parts and launched the fourth time.

All members of the SpaceX team were fully focused on a common goal. They joined Musk's team and his seemingly crazy plan to colonize Mars, and finally took this important step - on September 28, 2008, the Falcon 1 rocket was successfully launched.
